Welcome to Barn Owls!
In our classroom, every day is filled with curiosity, creativity, laughter and learning. We carefully create exciting indoor and outdoor environments where children can explore, investigate, imagine and challenge themselves through play and meaningful experiences.
We absolutely love stories and books are at the heart of everything that we do. Our learning is often inspired by wonderful fiction and non-fiction texts that spark children's imagination, language and understanding of the world around them.
Alongside our play-based learning, we place a strong focus on developing the key skills children need for a successful start to school.
We prioritise:
Gross motor development through climbing, balancing, outdoor play and movement activities to build strong bodies and coordination.
Phonics every day, helping children become confident readers and writers as they learn new sounds and develop a love of reading.
Fine motor skills and handwriting to strengthen little hands and support children in becoming confident, independent writers.
Communication and language, encouraging children to talk, share ideas, ask questions and develop their
vocabulary through stories, play and conversation.
Our aim is to build strong foundations whilst ensuring learning remains fun, engaging and full of wonder!
Forest School Reminder
Our Forest School day is Thursday. Children should come to school dressed in their Forest School clothes as we will be
outdoors in all weathers and, most importantly, will almost certainly get muddy!
We love exploring nature, taking risks, making discoveries and embracing a little bit of mud along the way.
Thank you for your continued support.
We look forward to sharing all the exciting adventures and learning that take place in Barn Owls throughout the year!
