Brampton Cortonwood Infants School Advert
Brampton Cortonwood Infants School OFSTED
"On behalf of the staff, governors, children and parents I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you and your family to Brampton Cortonwood Infant School. We are a busy and friendly infant school, part of the James Montgomery Academy Trust; we aim to create a happy, caring and stimulating learning environment where children can begin to take their first steps towards developing independence and learning how to learn.

All staff at Brampton Cortonwood Infant School, both teaching and support staff work tremendously well as a team. We are committed to the development of each child as an individual. Our aim is to encourage children to work to the best of their abilities and realise their full potential in all aspects of learning and development social, emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual and moral.

We believe that all children are unique and we can all learn from one another through fun and varied approaches. It is our sincere hope that by all working together we will ensure that the children have only the very best opportunities. This will provide a deep and firm foundation for the whole of their school life and beyond.

As Head of School, I very much look forward to meeting you and, together with all staff, fostering a happy and trusting partnership with you and your family."

Our Whole School Weekly Attendance: 91%
September 2023 - present: 95.68%
Here at Brampton Cortonwood we of course aim high and want all our children to be in 100% of the time as we know there are strong correlations between this and achievement. Our school minimum expectation is 96% and within the Attendance Policy you can see the interventions that are put in place if 96% is not met.
We are a school which follows the Forest School ethos

A forest school encourages creativity and play through exploration. The sessions in one of our two forest school areas are child-led, meaning the adults are there to supervise whilst not directing. Children will be provided with tools and options, projects to work on or simply allowed to get creative using their own imagination! Our pupils love the hands-on, creative learning whilst having a ton of fun. We have so far built a brick fire pit, created a fairy garden, built a couple of bug hotels, made WW2 trenches, looked after local wildlife with bird hides and feeders, role played in mud kitchens, dug craters, climbed trees, whittled twigs for projects and used a host of tools. The possibilities are endless!
We are currently working towards Forest School accreditation by up-skilling our staff whilst still delivering the Forest School experiences throughout school.
